How to arrive to the Cembra Valley

The Cembra Valley is in Trentino, non far from Trent.

So the most logical way to go there by car is to travel through the Motorway A22 “del Brennero and take the exit Trento Centro. Just outside the motorway, at the roundabout, go towards Padova; continue on this road (SS47 della Valsugana) following the indications for Padova/Pergine . After around 12 km (7½ mi) turn right, at the sign Civezzano/Altopiano di Piné/Zona del Porfido. Turn left toward Civezzano/Lases/Cavalese (SP17) and, after around 1 km (½ mile), go on towards Cavalese/Fornace.

You are now in the road “Strada Provinciale 71 di Fersina-Avisio“ (the “Dolomites Direct Route”), which goes along the left bank of the brook Avisio (it's the southern side of the valley): the Cembra Valley formally begins when you arrive at Lóna. In order to cross to the other bank, near the hamlet Piazzo di Segonzano there is the so-called Ponte dell'Amicizia (Friendship Bridge), built in the sixties (of the 20th century) to facilitate the communications between the two sides of the valley: it leads directly to Faver and Cembra (the junction with the road Strada Provinciale 101 “Cross-way of the Cembra Valley” is after about 15 km [10 mi] from Civezzano, going straight along route SP 71).

Between Valle di Fornace and Lasés on the SP 71, instead, there is the fork leading to the altopiano di Piné (Piné plateau), where there are most of the tourist facilities.

Note: there are other possible routes to go to the Cembra Valley. In my opinion the one I proposed is usually the best compromise between length and traffic.

If you prefer the public transport, it's possible to go by train to the railway station Trento and then to take a suburban bus of the Atesina company: there are several lines covering the villages of both sides of the valley. The bus station is nearby the train one.

The nearest airport is the one in Verona Villafranca (Valerio Catullo); from there you can arrive to Trent both by car (again through Motorway A22, from exit Verona Nord in the direction of Brennero) and by train, from the station Verona Porta Nuova, reached through shuttle bus or taxi.

Below it's shown a map with the indications (a little bit different from the ones I've given above) to go by car to Segonzano (where there is the castle with the same name), taken from the booklet printed on the occasion of the two hundredth anniversary of the Battle of Segonzano.

Green journey.  ▬▬▬
Motorway exit San Michele a/A. Scenic route
for all the vehicles with height up to 2.80 m (9 ft).

Blue journey.    ▬▬▬
